Community Risk MAP Meeting Scheduled
Napoleon, ND – The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the N.D. State Water Commission are working with local officials to identify risks and remain safe through the Risk Mapping, Assessment and Planning (or Risk MAP) process. The meeting to conduct this process for Logan County is scheduled at 2 p.m., Thursday, August 24, 2017. The meeting will be held in the second-floor conference room at the Logan County Courthouse in Napoleon. The meeting is open to the public.
Many current FEMA Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) flood maps have not been updated or verified. Flood risk changes over time due to land development, erosion, increasing storm intensity, wildfires and other causes. Accurate information and data is essential to making informed decisions about flood risk. Updated maps will provide higher quality information to identify flood risk and keep Logan County homes, businesses and school safer.
